Carol Mayhoffer's Calico Beans
This is one of the best bean recipes that I have ever prepared. Little bit of work, but it is certainly a hearty side dish. Can easily be doubled to fit in a 12x24 buffet pan for large gatherings.
Ingredients
1/2# bacon, cut into 1" pieces1 large onion, chopped
1/2# ground beef
15 oz can navy beans, drained
15 oz can red kidney beans, undrained
15 oz can pork and beans, undrained
1 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons vinegar
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
